Day 1: Arusha To Tarangire National Park

On the first day of your journey, we’ll commence by picking you up from your Arusha hotel at 8am. Our destination is the remarkable Tarangire National Park, celebrated for its diverse landscapes encompassing nine distinct vegetation zones. This park is particularly renowned for the prevalence of majestic Ancient Baobab trees, which tower over the landscape and provide a striking contrast to the wildlife.

As you venture along the park’s meandering river, you’ll encounter a wide array of wildlife, ranging from an impressive variety of bird species to the regal presence of lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, elephants. In fact, Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of elephants in the entire country, affording you exceptional opportunities to observe the intricate dynamics within elephant families. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on another game drive before proceeding to your lodging.

Following this, you’ll embark on a picturesque journey across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its iconic tree-climbing lions. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your accommodation, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Africa Safari Lake Manyara

The second day begins with a morning game drive in the captivating Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its modest size (205 square miles), the park boasts awe-inspiring scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forests, towering fig and mahogany trees, and a thriving population of baboons and blue monkeys.

Lake Manyara’s permanent residents include giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a considerable number of buffaloes. The lake itself is a haven for numerous hippos. Notable features of this park include the enigmatic tree-climbing lions, flamingos adorning the lakeshore, as well as the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle.

Words alone cannot capture the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Manyara, and the game drives along the lake offer exceptional photo opportunities with giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground, and the lake with its flamingos in the backdrop. After a satisfying lunch, there will be time for a brief game drive before we commence our return journey to Arusha. Our estimated return to Arusha is around 5pm, although we are adaptable to accommodate specific requirements, such as catching a flight or other unforeseen circumstances.

My mother and I completed the 8 day trek to Uhuru Peak of Mt Kilimanjaro. Can’t say enough amazing things about our experience: Our guides (Florian and Loma) were incredibly prepared, professional, and knowledgeable about everything trek-related. The porters and chef were extremely kind and felt more like family than strangers by the end of our camp and trek journey. Our belongings were safe and handled with care. The food was prepared with love and tasted delicious (and even accommodated all dietary restrictions).. They met us where we were at each and every morning and prepared us for everything ahead each night. Both my mother and I were able to peak with no complications and get down the mountain without any injuries or complications to note. There was never a question about safety while camping, hiking, or peaking. They handled all transportation from the airport, to the national park, and back to our hotel accommodations. I was very sceptic as no much information was available about KIWARE on the open domain however they are one of the few who was willing to offer a itinerary as per my requirements (as I was a solo traveler from India ) . However spoke to Mr Elia , special mention to him as he was the one who was constantly in touch with me and made the itinerary exactly what I needed . With lots in mind I reached Arusha airport and things changed from there . Everything was spot on ….and happened exactly what they promised/mentioned . They received me and put me up at a hotel which was absolutely amazing. The nxt day the trip started and what a trip it was…one of the most memorable trip of my life . I have to mention to the driver /guide Samuel L Laizer, amazing guide , amazing driver an amazing human and now a very good friend . His ever smiling face made the long days of game spotting quite a fun. The famous BIG FIVE was spotted on the very first day itself and the second day was fun again with additional treat as we were able to spot few Rhinos (from quite a distance) . The accommodation I opted for was of Camping ( would recommend everyone to try it …gives a rustic and authentic experience) . We were provided with all 3 meals (absolutely amazing) Water bottle on the trip Nevertheless the 3 days were absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend everyone to trust and go ahead with KIWARE adventures. The drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park takes approximately two to three hours, depending on road conditions.

What do I wear on africa safari lake manyara?

You will be in a warm climate where it sometimes rains and where it is often sunny, so bring cotton clothing and a broad-brimmed hat, kind of like the clothes you see in the Safari movies. You will also need some sturdy shoes or boots that are comfortable and preferably waterproof. For the trips to Mt. Kilimanjaro and other mountain places, you will need warm winter coats and so forth. Most of these things you can buy here in Africa or from the store on this website. If you are going to the high mountain areas you will need a warm winter coat for the nighttime.

Where do I sleep on africa safari lake manyara?

Depending on your itinerary you will sleep either in a lodge in which case you will have a room like in a hotel with a nice bed, or you will sleep in a camp in which case you will have a private cabin or “hut” also with a nice bed. Mosquito netting is provided and you can also bring your own if you like. By special request, you can sleep in tents if you want to but that is really roughing it
