The Lemosho Route stands out as the path with the highest summit success rate on Kilimanjaro. Offering breathtaking panoramic views over the untouched landscapes of West Kilimanjaro, this trail promises a truly unforgettable journey. Midway through the trek, the Lemosho Route merges with the famous Machame Route, allowing you to experience highlights like the dramatic Barranco Wall.
You can opt to complete the Lemosho climb in either seven or eight days. The difference lies in the starting point:
- The 7-day option begins at a higher altitude of 3,500 meters, meaning you will drive through the tropical rainforest and start hiking above it.
- The 8-day option starts lower, at 2,200 meters, giving you the chance to trek through the lush rainforest on foot on your first day.
If you’re interested in a faster ascent, the 6-day Lemosho-Shira Route offers an alternative with a different starting point.
