This trail begins on the western side of the mountain and merges with the standard Lemosho route from the second camp onward. It offers fewer crowds, dramatic scenery, and a smoother acclimatization process.

Itinerary Summary – Lemosho Shira Route  (9 Days)

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

• Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival, you’ll be met by our team and transferred to your hotel to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Start of Climb – Shira Plateau

• Drop-off Point (3,500 m / 11,483 ft) → Shira 2 Camp (3,890 m / 12,762 ft)
• Your journey begins at high altitude on the Shira Plateau, allowing you to ease into the climb with beautiful views and a gentle start.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day

• Shira 2 Camp → Lava Tower (4,630 m / 15,190 ft) → Barranco Camp (3,950 m / 12,959 ft)
• This day is essential for acclimatization. You’ll ascend to Lava Tower for lunch before descending to Barranco Camp for the night.

Day 4: Climb the Great Barranco Wall

• Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp (4,040 m / 13,254 ft)
• A scenic and challenging day climbing the famous Barranco Wall, followed by a short trek to Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Approaching the Summit Base

• Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp (4,645 m / 15,239 ft)
• Today you ascend to the base camp at Barafu, where you’ll rest and prepare for the midnight summit push.

Day 6: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak

• Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,340 ft) → Millennium Camp (3,820 m / 12,532 ft)
• A pre-dawn start takes you to the roof of Africa! Celebrate your achievement at Uhuru Peak before descending to Millennium Camp.

Day 7: Descent and Return to Hotel

• Millennium Camp → Mweka Gate (1,640 m / 5,380 ft) → Transfer to Hotel
• Complete your trek through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate and return to your hotel for a well-earned rest.

Days 8– 9: Departure

• Spend your final hours in Tanzania relaxing or exploring before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
