Lemosho Kilimanjaro Overview
During this 8 Day Lemosho Kilimanjaro Climbing Retreat we will be making our way up to the peak of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro!
This route is still known as one of the most beautiful and untouched ones as it is less frequented.
As there are two different ways the climb up and down you will come across different scenery, each having its own attraction. It’s happening, and we;d love you to be a part of it!
Arrival and transfer to Planet Lodge
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to accommodation in Arusha, Planet Lodge.
Walking 4 Hours Mti Mkubwa campsite
Breakfast, drive to the gate of Londorosi for a few minutes of registration and other formalities. The 4WD will take you further up to Lemosho glades, thereafter you can walk for about 4hrs to Mti Mkubwa campsite (9,200ft) Dinner, and overnight at the camp.
Walking Through the Moorland
Breakfast, leave the MtiMkubwa campsite for Shira plateau (11,550ft), walking through the moorland steepening track. Dinner and overnight at the Shira I, camp.
Hike Across the High Desert
Breakfast, hike across the high desert to Shira II camp (12,220ft) with significant acclimatization effect as we go up the mountain.
Barranco Camp
After breakfast, we leave Shira II for Barranco camp (13,100ft) overnight Barranco camp.
Karanga Valley
After breakfast, we leave Baranco Camp for Barafu Camp (14,910ft) will pass through the last water drop at Karanga valley on the way up overnight Barafu.
Uhuru Peak through the Stella point
Wake up at midnight, and after a small snack, start ascending to Uhuru peak through the Stella point (18,640ft), then after reaching the summit, we will head down to Mweka Camp (10,100ft) for dinner and overnight.
Ending off Climbing
After breakfast, we will head down to Mweka gate with a lunch packet, and the waiting vehicle will take you to Planet Lodge.
Day 9. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
